Board meeting July 20, 2015

In attendance: Jacquie Kirby, David Fish, Ann Ulp, Dave Chajkowski, Lee Morrison, Ramon Marin, Don Fry, Jean Lowe

Meeting started 7:00 p.m.

Ramon gave a treasurer report.  The income and expenses are going as expected.  Because of rain, the lawn mowing expenses are a little higher than expected.  Weeding, spraying for poison ivy and other trimming expenses are higher than expected.  Weeding used to be covered by volunteers from the neighborhood, but since no residents have come forward to help, the neighborhood has had to hire a company to do the work. 

The board is still looking for new board members – especially younger families with small children.  Please help and become a board member.  There will be some openings at the October general meeting. 

Jacquie discussed an idea for a new front entrance project.  The front entrance plants have become too old and overgrown.  Jacquie was suggesting a fresh restart of the plants by first removing all the current growth and putting in something new.  This would be a good Eagle Scout project.  One wild card would be the impact from the construction of the new bridge. 

The planning for the summer picnic has begun.  Discussion of the food items to get for the meal.  If there is any restaurant owner willing to donate some food items for a mention or at cost…..that would be great.

September 12 – PBCA Picnic at Pavilion Park

October 5 – PBCA General meeting and elections

October 9 & 10 Fall neighborhood yard sale

Bike parade is set for September 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Pavilion Park.  Ice cream will be provided for kids attending. 

Reminder that door-to-door solicitors must have a permit for selling in the neighborhood.  They must have the permit on display.  If they do not, please call the Hampden police using the non-emergency number 761-2609.  Some sellers have claimed their “boss” had the permit or they have a permit for Camp Hill.  This is not allowable under Township laws…….the permit must be displayed by the salesperson.
