Board meeting March 14, 2016

In attendance: Lee Morrison, David Fish, Kim Zurflieh, Don Fry, Ramon Marin

Meeting started 7:00 p.m.

Secretary mentioned dues letters have gone out to the neighborhood. In order to save costs, the letters were sent to the homes that are not on the email list and have not responded to the first round of emails or newsletter request.  Payments are not due until the beginning of April.

The Treasurer gave a report.  119 homes have paid dues so far.  The Treasurer paid insurance of $840 to cover liability and the parks.  There is another insurance payment coming for the directors insurance.

The President will call the water company get the water turned on to Pavilion Park.  The porta potty has been ordered and will be installed at Pavilion Park from April 1 to October 31.

Discussion of a neighborhood dispute service out of Harrisburg that can be used by residents to help mediate disputes.  This will cost $10 per contestant and will avoid having to hire a lawyer or file to the district court.  This is not a “legal” service, but will help each party talk and work out a solution by providing mediation.  If one neighbor has an issue, they can contact this service and they will reach out to the other party and invite both folks to meet at a neutral location and the service will facility the discussion.  Contact information for this service will be provided to the neighborhood shortly.

Discussion of Easter Egg Hunt.  It is set for March 26 at Hidden Park.

{Post event note} Allison Kilgore and Katie Manning organized the event and it was wonderful!! Well over sixty folks attended and the three groups of egg hunting went great.  Thanks to all the people who donated to the event……the gift table was full of very nice toys and books for the kids to have.

Discussion of Billy Fish doing conservation project in the neighborhood.  Billy is working on a service project for Boy Scouts in order to earn the William T. Hornaday award for conservation and environmentalism.  One of the project he is doing to win this award is to install metal badges on the storm sewer grates in three Pine Brook, Kings Wood and Silver Brook.  A flyer will go out shortly to each house with full details.  Billy is looking for help with this community project and he is also seeking donations to cover the $2,000 cost of this project.

Meeting ended 7:35 p.m.

Next board meeting on April 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at 420 Lamp Post Ln.
