Happy New Year!

We have committed to making some positive changes for our neighborhood in 2025. Hidden Park will see some transformation with a commitment of $10,000 from our savings. We are in the midst of obtaining bids for lawncare, and developing a long term plan for landscaping at the entrance and our parks.

We will be hand-delivering dues notices to all homes later this month, and have updated the online dues form for 2025. We depend on dues to maintain our three parks, which make our neighborhood very desirable and set it apart from other neighborhoods in Hampden Township. Your small investment of $75/year is imperative to keeping our property values high.

On our website, you will see some reorganizing, as we made it easier to find current PBCA minutes and treasurer reports.

For operations, the Board has obtained a post office box for paper correspondence:

We continue to have a PBCA drop box at 3828 Carriage House Dr.

This allows us to share the responsibility for dues management, and allows us to have a consistent address for long term responsibilities, such as our insurance.

Pine Brook is a great neighborhood, with three parks that are maintained by the Pine Brook Civic Association. We depend on YOU to fund maintenance of Front Park, Hidden Park, and Pavilion Park.

Thank you, Pine Brook neighbors, for a wonderful 2023 Picnic! It was a great afternoon with a lot of sun! Did you know that as Board members and volunteers were setting up the picnic it was POURING on Carriage House and Candlelight? Pavilion Park got only about 10 minutes of that passing rain before the picnic started! Thank you to everyone who helped to organize this event especially Katie Azeles, Ann Furr, and Elyse Smeigh! The Bubble House was not able to set up, and we will have them for another event this fall!

Good Afternoon Pine Brook Neighbors,

The Picnic Committee wanted to say a huge thank you for everyone coming out yesterday on such a gorgeous day. The event was a success because of you.

We want to especially thank Lisa Keck for running the registration table, Amy Wastler for sponsoring the Craft table and gift cards, Lisa Kissinger and Patricia Winesickle for face painting and Brad Perva for all his work to have the park ready to go for the event. Erin Teter we are grateful for your donation of the 50/50 prize! Thank you for also taking photographs for the event. In addition, thank you to our many other volunteers for the event, we couldn't have hosted the event without you.

We also had a great list of vendors, please reach out to us if you would like them to come out to your own event any time.

Below are some picture and some of the drawings submitted today for the "What I love About Pine Brook" contest! Great job to all our participants!

Mulching at Pavilion Park and Front Entrance

At this point there's still some to do at Pavilion Park but both parks have been beautified this spring with a lot of volunteer labor. Trick-R-Treat Now Scheduled For October 31, 2020

Due to the forecast for up to two inches of rain, Trick or Treat in Hampden Township has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Hampden Township does not sponsor any Halloween or Trick or Treat related activities. The Township merely establishes a uniform date and time for residents who wish to participate. Residents, with children, may decide if they wish to participate in door-to-door Trick or Treat activities and individual property owners may choose whether or not they wish to distribute treats from their residence. Participants are reminded to use COVID related safety practices.

Parents who choose to have their child(ren) participate in Trick or Treat are urged to have them wear any costume masks so they are large enough to see through easily, have a flashlight and wear bright reflective colors. Parents should also inspect treats before allowing their children to eat them.

From Hampden Township: Regulations For Personal Use Of Fireworks

With summer festivities and the Fourth of July approaching, it is important for residents and visitors to know, understand and abide by Pennsylvania's Fireworks Law.

The law, which generally permits use of fireworks that were previously prohibited, has provisions that make it virtually impossible to legally discharge fireworks in Hampden Township.
•They cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
•They cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
•They cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building.
•They cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure, whether or not a person is actually present.
•They cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug.

If you are in a position to legally discharge fireworks, please consider the following things in order to be a considerate neighbor:
•The time of day and neighbors who may have small children.
•Local pets who may be terrified by a long, sustained fireworks display.
•Wind and weather conditions blowing your aerial rockets into neighbors yards.
If you discharge a firework and cause a fire, YOU can be held criminally liable (responsible) for the damage and any injury caused.

Finally, due to the increase in complaints, this law will be strictly enforced and citations will be issued for violations of the law.

If you have additional questions on the law, you can visit the Pennsylvania State Police website which further explains the law and provides some additional information.

Hidden Park Mulch Work

Wanted to share a few pics and thank everyone that helped. The park looks great and we have more plans to improve it over the next few weeks. Special thanks to the following helpers: the Manning family, the Perva family, the Mayberry family, the Kessler family, the Sumko family, Dave Chajkowski, Garrison Price, Maeve Gleason, Dan Shuckers and Katie Heidelbaugh.

The front of the entrance we will be planting some grass seed there where there is no mulch. Please try and be careful when entering, although we know it will be tough.

2019 Neighborhood Picnic - Thanks for a Good Time!

We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that volunteered yesterday at the picnic. Thanks to Ashlee Kessler and Nic Miller for planning and organizing it. Brad Perva, Garrison Price and anyone else that power washed and stained the pavilion. It looked beautiful!

We had over 40 families attend. I encourage anyone who didn't make it, to try and come out to the next event. It was a beautiful day and pavilion park was full of kids running around and people having a good time. Our community is a dying breed but we are all so fortunate to live in this beautiful development.

Pavilion Park Improvements

Big thanks to PBCA Board members Garrison Price and Brad Perva for all the work they have done for our neighborhood. They cleaned up the front park, mulched the Pavilion area, examined the Pavilion for repairs, got bids, recommended the roofers, and reviewed the work as well as adding necessary boarding. We now have a new roof and much needed gutters. You can view some photos of the work below.
